what gear do i need to bring?
Each guest should bring their own complete kiteboarding or wing foiling setup so you have the equipment you need to ride throughout the week.
We recommend bringing the gear you would normally travel with for conditions in the high teens to low 20-knot range, with the possibility of stronger 25+ knot El Norte days. If you're unsure what sizes to bring, reach out to Jesse before the trip and we'll help you plan your quiver based on your size, riding style, and the expected conditions.

What Duotone Demo Gear will be available?
Throughout the Experience, guests will have access to a selection of 2026/27 Duotone kites, wings, boards, and foil equipment.
The demo fleet gives you the opportunity to try some of the latest Duotone gear while also helping fill the gaps in your personal quiver. If the conditions call for a kite, wing, board, or foil size you didn't bring, we may have an option available for you to use.
The demo fleet is shared among the group and is intended to supplement — not replace — your personal riding equipment. You do not need to go out and purchase additional kite or wing sizes specifically for the trip.

Yes. Unlike our Hood River Experience, each Baja guest is required to bring a complete personal riding setup.
Having your own equipment ensures you're able to maximize your time on the water regardless of which Duotone demo equipment is being used by other guests. The demo fleet then gives you the freedom to try new equipment and additional sizes throughout the week.

what skill level is required?
The Baja Experience is primarily designed for kiteboarders and wing foilers who have basic riding ability and can ride independently.
You don't need to be an advanced rider. Jesse will be available throughout the week to provide coaching, riding tips, gear advice, and on-water support to help you progress.
If you're still working toward becoming an independent rider, we can also help coordinate private instruction with our local partner school in Los Barriles. Private lessons are not included in the Experience and will be booked separately.
If you're unsure whether your current skill level is a good fit, reach out before booking and we'll be happy to discuss it with you.

how do i get to the experience?
Guests are responsible for booking their own airfare to Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) in San José del Cabo.
Once you arrive, we've got you covered. Round-trip private airport transportation between SJD and our hotel in Los Barriles is included with your Experience.
We'll collect everyone's flight information before the trip and coordinate your airport pickup and return transportation.

what airport do i fly into?
You will fly into Los Cabos International Airport — airport code SJD.
SJD is the primary airport serving southern Baja California Sur and offers numerous flight options from the United States. Los Barriles is approximately a one-hour drive from the airport along a paved highway.

how do i get from the airport to Los Barriles?
Your airport shuttle is included.
We'll arrange transportation to pick you up at SJD and bring you and your gear directly to Playa del Sol in Los Barriles. At the end of the Experience, we'll also coordinate your return shuttle to SJD for your flight home.
Our transportation has room for passengers, luggage, and the oversized kite and foil bags that come along with a wind trip, so there's no need to rent a vehicle just to get to Los Barriles.

can i upgrade my room?
Room options may be available depending on hotel availability. While specific requests cannot be guaranteed, we'll do our best to accommodate them.
If a different room type or occupancy changes the hotel rate, your Experience price will be adjusted accordingly.

can i change my trip dates?
No. Each experience runs on specific scheduled dates. While you are welcome to arrive late or depart early if needed, the booking covers the full duration of the trip and the package price remains the same.
can i bring a guest?
Each spot purchased is intended for one individual. Depending on hotel availability, we may be able to accommodate two guests in a single room.
If two guests share a room, the package price cannot be split and will be adjusted accordingly for both individuals.
We also ask that any guest joining the experience is also a kiteboarder or wing foiler with the required skills, as the trip is designed around daily wind sessions and shared time on the water. Keeping everyone involved in the riding helps maintain the high-energy, stoke-filled atmosphere of the experience.
