Great day in the late day
Beach update 1:00:
Pretty nice day out here with clear skies and warm temperatures. Our wind however is fairly light at the moment. The wind graph is saying 14 MPH on shore from the Southwest but I’d put it closer to 10. Water is completely flat with zero white caps. They have changed the forecast several times and they’re now calling for a slightly earlier start around 3:00. Fingers crossed this new forecast pulls through and we see some mid to high teens roll in!
I try not to be overly confident in these posts as I said I'm not a weather expert, but today is shaping up to be another decent day in Belmont Shore from my point of view. Winds yesterday hit early and stayed for a good portion of the afternoon. So far a pretty decent start to March and our kite season. Today's calling for more strong winds, but with a slightly later start. Currently we are seeing clear skies in Long Beach with the wind blowing off shore at 2 MPH from the Northeast. Forecast is calling for the turn around mid morning then a slow build to some decent numbers in the late afternoon. Note the direction being more side shore to side off coming from the Northwest. These always tend to be pretty strong which can make for a fun afternoon especially for the after work crew. I'm hoping we see the stronger numbers earlier, but either way mid afternoon we can expect some rideable wind for the foil folks. Twin tippers can expect some action mid to late afternoon. I'll be at the beach again today so I should be able to post a midday onsite report for you all around 12:30-1:00. Happy kiting everyone!
