Gust or Bust?

Well, our forecast have been super reliable lately (heavy sarcasm). Currently we are seeing partly cloudy skies and mild temperatures in Long Beach.  Wind blowing 10 MPH onshore from the South/Southwest.  Doesn't seem like too bad of a start, but our forecast doesn't seem to be very optimistic. According to our good ole WF-WRF we are seeing mild winds with potential mid teens in the late afternoon. I would say today's start is much better in comparison to yesterday's cloudy cold morning so maybe we can see a bit more strength than forecasted.  It has been the trend the past week with the early afternoon winds being about 2-4 MPH stronger than predicted.  My call is foil folks having a ball out there today as they usually do, but not too confident for our twin tip friends.
Thanks to Mike and Steve for leaving comments to yesterday's question of the day.  Seems like both of you guys love to just be out on the water enjoying the basics of our sport.  I totally agree that any time on the water is time well spent. Hopefully each of you can score some time out there soon!

Today's question of the day:

What other kite spots do you ride/want to ride?

Stoked to see where you all have been and want to go! Happy kiting!

Appreciate the forecast Jesse! I was on the fence today and unfortunately came to same conclusion on twin tippers.

Great questions - I love to kite because of the connection to the elements. The kite feels like an extension of my body and I can feel the wind with a new sense. To slice over the water with only sound of air and waves is simply magic.

I’m into twin tips but clearly need to get on board with foiling! But I love the twin tip riding style and I dream of kiting places like Tahoe and remote lakes and distant islands in paradise.
