As of writing this post we are seeing offshore flows coming from the North at 6 MPH in our lovely Belmont Shore of Long Beach. This along with slight overcast is putting a damper on kiting plans today! The warm temperatures rolling in are creating the offshore breezes you can see in the WF-WRF model below. According to the model we are seeing a slight turn in the wind later in the afternoon, but not much power coming along with the change. Looks like it may just be a chill at home kinda day, but for the foil folks you might be able to get some action in the late afternoon!
For some added fun, I want to start giving out more information in this blog about the school and upcoming events. As some of you may know I am the Duotone Kiteboarding Tech Rep for the Southwest. What this means is that I do Duotone demos through out our wind season. I am also here to help those of you who own Duotone kites with questions about your gear, and give you valuable tips to get the best performance out of your equipment. That being said my 2020 quiver of Duotone kites and boards is on its way! If the stars align I should have a majority of my quiver available on Sunday. For those of you peaking ahead in our forecast you can see they are calling for some healthy breezes later in the weekend. Depending on my lesson schedule that day, and how strong our winds actually get, I may be holding a small demo in Belmont on Sunday to show off the new gear. I plan on making the call on the demo in Saturday's blog post, and will give out more detailed information as far as timing goes. For future demos I plan on holding them about once a month, and will be announcing them on here and on our social media. If you have any questions about what gear I have available, and what it takes to demo gear drop me an email at [email protected]. Happy kiting everyone!
